MIDI Frisson

rwxMusic is powered by over a decade in academic research within the field of genetics and mental health and a love of music and music creation.

Frisson is a physiological response that occurs in response to unexpected deviations in music structure, such as changes in key, instrumentation, melody or harmony. Most people would experience this as goosebumps. It can cause activation in both the symptathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.

The physiological response to music is very well documented, and the evidence is increasing as to its therapeutic applications. Frission is the peak physiological response that can be achieved, and I believe this can be personalised and identified using sampled instruments. You need the right sound to produce the greatest physiological response. You will only know that if you have the right instruments or sample toolkit to investigate.

Our MIDI Frisson training provides researchers with all the benefits of our SAMPLE training, and how this can be applied in clinical or research settings. This uses the entire catalogue from EastWest “Composer Cloud+” that boasts over 42000 instruments. We can advise on various experimental designs.

If you are an educational or academic institution and want to know how MIDI Frisson can help your research, please feel free to contact us or email leon@rwxmusic.co.uk.

Please note rwxMusic has used EastWest products for nearly two decades for personal use. We have no commercial arrangement with EastWest and receive no commission from them.
